How to Print a Poster

This document provides information on how to print your poster. For information on how to prepare your poster, see How to Prepare a Poster.

How to get your poster printed:

  1. First, remember that the CS Department will pay for one printing of your poster, at the "official" poster size of 36"x24" (landscape) and with a white background only (see How to Prepare a Poster for details).
    • The CS Department will pay to print your poster ONCE, on 36"x24" paper.
    • Print a small version locally and proof it carefully before you submit it to be printed poster size. If you find errors once it's printed poster size, it's up to you to arrange (and pay for) a reprint if you want one.
    • If you want a bigger poster you have to arrange (and pay for) that yourself; with the large volume of posters we'll be processing we can't handle special requests.

  2. When you finish your poster, name the PowerPoint file as follows (please don't invent other naming schemes):
    • Faculty members (e.g., for lab overview posters) -- name your file with your last name, such as "Walker.ppt"
    • Graduate students -- name your file with your advisor's last name, and your last name, such as "Walker.Schaffer.ppt"
    • Undergraduate students -- name your file with your advisor's last name, and either the club or class name, such as "Pechenuk.ACM.ppt"
    • If an individual or lab has more than one poster, add a number to each file name, such as "Walker.1.ppt" and "Walker.2.ppt"

  3. Upload your poster to Poster UpLoad Page no later than 5:00pm on Monday 7 April (you are encouraged to upload your file earlier). Your poster will be automatically printed for you.
    • The Upload page is password protected. Use your departmental username and password to login to the page. If you do not currently have a departmental account. Please contact systems in MSB 147.
    • It will take TWO DAYS to get your poster back.
