Form for registering for CS 33192 Internship in Computer Science:
During the summer of 2005, two Kent State Computer Science
students held internships with their sponsoring companies
through the Third Frontier Internship Program (3FTP). The
mission of 3FTP is to further develop Ohio high-tech
industries and research, with particular attention paid to
startup companies that generate high-paying jobs. The
objective of this program is to develop talented workers in
the areas of science and technology to become the driving
force of Ohio’s economy. At the same time, 3FTP provides an
opportunity for college students to be engaged in the real
world and for university personnel to become more intimately
acquainted with the demands, strategies, and processes of the
business world. 3FTP is a win-win situation for all
stakeholders – for students, for educators, for business
leaders, and for all Ohioans as the state moves toward a
knowledge-based economy, an economy that relies on technical
and scientific expertise in all aspects of everyday life.
Students should visit
ClevelandIntern.net
to learn more about 3FTP internship opportunities.
To register for internship opportunities, computer science
majors at Kent should visit
www.ecampusrecruiter.com/kent.
Once a student’s eligibility in the program has been
established, the student will be asked to complete a survey,
which is the next step in the approval process. Career
Services will then notify the student whether his or her
survey has been approved and will provide further details on
how to upload the survey results in the form of a resume to
ClevelandIntern.net and how to manage it. A job
agent will then be created by the student to receive
information on applicable internship opportunities. Students
should apply for 3FTP internships only through the
ClevelandIntern.net website.
A student receiving an invitation for an interview and/or an
internship offer through this program should notify both the
Kent State Career Services and the Computer Science Advising
Office. A successful performance by one Kent State Computer
Science student leads to many more opportunities for his or
her classmates.
