Computer Lab Locations

Signing on to Lab Machines

All lab computers are set to autologin. If for some reason there is a Windows login screen, enter the following data (without the quotes).

CS Information (Rooms 139, 160, 162, 243)
User Name = "student"
Password = "cslabs"

Math Information (Rooms 156, 158)
User Name = "student"
Password = "mathlabs"

Library Information (Room 313)
User Name = "student"
Password = "liblabs"

Saving Your Work

All lab computers are set to update their software every night to match the master image. This means any new files created during the day will be wiped out. All important files created should be backed up by using sftp to store the files in your serer home directory. Files can also be backed up to a floppy disk, zip disk, or burned to a CD (if available).

Printing Files

Windows
1. Print a postscript file (file.ps)
When trying to print this should be the only choice.
2. Upload the file to your server home directory
Use sftp to place the file in your home directory.
3. Print the file to a printer
Use lp or lpr to send the file to one of the public printers.

Unix/Linux
