Bio Sketch
Gus Samba is an Industrial Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Kent State University. Gus received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Applied Math and Computer Science respectively, from the University of Liverpool in England.
Prior to joining the Department, he worked at AT&T Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies and QuikCAT Technologies. He has more than 16 years experience in applied research and development in telecommunications, communications software, systems engineering, and systems architecture. Dr. Samba’s research has led to his receiving two U.S. patents, two Canadian, one Japanese, and one European (Britain, France and Germany). Currently he has two U.S. patents pending.
His current research interests include wireless/mobile networking, next generation network management systems; and computational modeling, analysis, simulation of signal pathways in the Central and Peripheral Nervous Systems.
Dr. Samba currently serves on the technical program committee of the 9th Communications and Networking Simulations (CNS ‘06) symposium, which is sponsored by the Society for Modeling and Simulation International
