• Prerequisite: CS 33001 (Data Structures) and CS 33003 (Computer Organization and Assembly Language)

• Time: Tuesday, Thursday 4:00 - 5:15

• Text: Introduction to Algorithms, by Cormen, Leiserson, and Rivest, 1989

• Grades: Grades will be assigned according to the following scale,
  • A 90-100
  • B 80-89
  • C 70-79
  • D 60-69
  • F 0-59

• Grade Calculation: Grades will be calculated based on the following
  • Homework Assignments : 30% (I expect to give homework every week)
  • Midterm Exam: 30% (On or about 3/8, format TBD)
  • Final Exam: 40% (Wednesday May 9, 7:45 - 10:00, this will be comprehensive)

• Grading Policy Statement: Students are expected to produce working solutions in a timely manner. Non working solutions to problems will receive a failing grade, and late solutions will not be accepted under normal circumstances.

• Cheating: All work turned in is expected to be produced by the submittor. While discussing high level problems with classmates, tutors, and others is acceptable, the majority of the solution to the problem should be written by the submittor. If the instructor, in accordance with University rules, decides that students have cheated on an assignment or assignments, the student will be assigned grade of "F" for the class.

  Students who's work is identical to, or has the same structure as another's work may be considered to have cheated.

  The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science has issued a cheating policy. statement defining the various levels of cooperation. I expect students to interact at level B, discussion, at most.
