• Prerequisite: Students are expected to be familiar with the C programming language, in addition an intermediate level knowledge of Unix will be very helpful.

• Grades: Grades will be assigned according to the following scale,
  • A 90-100
  • B 80-89
  • C 70-79
  • D 60-69
  • F 0-59

• Grade Calculation: Grades will be calculated based on the following
  • Midterm 30%
  • Final Exam 30%
  • Other 40%

• Class examples will appear here.

• Grading Policy Statement: This is a technically oriented senior/graduate level class. Students are expected to produce working solutions in a timely manner. Non working solutions to problems will receive a failing grade, and late solutions will not be accepted under normal circumstances. All assignments are expected to be submitted with complete source code and documentation. Please refer to my Assignment Submission Guidelines for more information.

• Cheating: All work turned in is expected to be produced by the submittor. While discussing high level problems with classmates, tutors, and others is acceptable, the majority of the solution to the problem should be written by the submittor. If the instructor, in accordance with University rules, decides that students have cheated on an assignment or assignments, the student will be assigned grade of "F" for the class.

  Students who's work is identical to, or has the same structure as another's work may be considered to have cheated.

  The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science has issued a cheating policy. statement defining the various levels of cooperation. I expect students to interact at level B, discussion, at most.
