I research effective ways to manage & analyze large amounts of data. My work in industry is mainly with geospatial data [1 2 3 4]. Some of my academic work deals with a broader (metric space) class of data which is best analyzed using similarity search techniques. The rest is centered around various data mining topics: semantic analysis, social network analysis, large graph mining and graph databases. Recently, I've been interested in large-scale, distributed key-value stores like BigTable, S3 (and Dynamo), HBase, and Hypertable. I'm a masters student; my advisor is Dr. Ruoming Jin.
