The subcommittee consists of Cathy Bakes, Ray Craig, Alan Evans, Paul Farrell, Alice Iden, and Roberta Sikula. The subcommittee has drafted an evaluation of the status of the recommendations and received input from the four Ex-Officio members of the University Council on Technology, Rosemary DuMont, Judy Hirschman, Bruce Petryshak, and Greg Seibert, and other members of the University community.
The subcommittee is distributing this draft to the University Council on Technology, and the University community and requesting comments on the evaluation and conclusions. You are invited to review the document and send comments to Paul Farrell at farrell@mcs.kent.edu. The subcommittee will also hold two open meetings on April 7 and April 9 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm in room 318 in the Kent Student Center at which members of the University community are invited to ask questions and make comments. The Council, serving as the University's advisory body for information technology, shall work in collaboration with the University community to lead the advancement of scholarship through the appropriate integration of technology. Along with its standing committees on Academic, Administrative, and Distributed Learning, the Council will (1) take an inventory of present technology resources, (2) develop a coherent technology vision for the University, (3) propose policy to promote overall University technology development. The Council will make their recommendations to the Chief Information Officer.
