Second Half

The Aviators opened their season with a big win Thursday night, with a 4-1 victory over team Snyderman. The win ends the Aviators 6 game skid, extended from the previous season in the Blue league. This years fall 2006 Broomball league has done away, though, with the seperate divisions and incorporated them into one large league comprised of 26 teams. The league is seperated into two conferences, with each conference made up of two divisions for a total of four divisions all together. The Aviators opened their season up against an unseeded team from the Eastern Conference. Lead by a powerful offense, the Aviators drew first blood against Snyderman as Nick Kulesza opened the season with his 15th career goal in high traffic. Snyderman would rally back to score their only goal of the evening just a few minutes later. Later in the first half, the Aviators broke free on an odd man rush and were able to capitalize on the play as Michael Harris would net his first career goal. Harris, a rookie forward caught a rebound off a shot by Kulesza to put the Aviators up 2-1 by the end of the half. The second half showcased a stone cold defensive effort lead by goaltender Alex Barnett, with a 94.7% save percentage (18/19). Kulesza would go on to score half way through the second half, and again with just over 20 seconds remaining in the game to finalize the 4-1 victory. The aviators will have to face off against Wang Computers on 17 Oct at 9:00 PM. WC won their game against the mile high club 2-1 last week.
