Default Values
Sometimes default values can be added to a table to allow plural
processing. These values must be algebraically correct
and are often simple algebraic identities. For example,
algebraically, r can be written as 1Xr or r+0. In the case of
the boat problem, if a default value of 0 is inserted in the boat1 faster
cell, then the boat distances can be calculated using plurals.
For boat1 and boat2:
distance$ = (rate$ + faster$) X time$.
