If the degree of
A(x)
is greater than or equal to
the degree of B(x)
, then we can
divide A(x)
by B(x)
(the divisor)
and get
A(x) / B(x) = Q(x) * B(x) + R(x)
where Q(x)
is the quotient and
R(x)
the remainder.
For example,
(x^4 + x + 2) / (x^2 + 3) = (x^2 -3)*(x^2+3) + (x + 11)
A(x)
and B(x)
to get the the quotient Q(x)
and the remainder R(x)
.
B(x)
is not 1, the quotient and the remainder may involve fractional coefficients.
