This text combines concepts from mathematics, natural language (English) and computer science to provide an integrated approach to teaching problem solving, story problems and Anglish programming. There is a natural kinship between the chart technique used to solve algebraic word problems and the tabular data structure basic to Anglish. In addition, there is considerable similarity between the syntax and meaning of natural language and associative programming languages. This text exploits these relationships to introduce Anglish programming and story problem solving techniques at the elementary algebra level in a manner which emphasizes problem solving and does not overwhelm the student with programming details.
