Wireless Mesh Network: Survey on Opportunities and Challenges
Mike Yuan
(Doctoral Student Presentation)
Wireless mesh networks are a special case of mobile ad-hoc networks
where the nodes have relatively fixed positions and communicate to the
Internet through one or more gateways. This paper gives an
introduction to WMNs and presents both the benefits enabled by this
technology and the main hurdles that have to be overcome, particularly
fault tolerance, load balancing, fairness and support for QoS.
