Sunday July 8 - Day 4: Dawson City
Board a Holland America deluxe motorcoach and roll along in comfort over the Klondike Highway to Dawson City, site of the most incredible gold rush the world has ever known. If you have the urge tonight, bet a bunch at Diamond Tooth Gerties, it's legal in the Yukon.
Monday July 9 - Day 5: Dawson City, Yukon River Cruise, Eagle, Tok
A brief tour will show you the town and the gold fields as you transfer to our own mv Yukon Queen II for a cruise down the "River of Gold." You are "inside" now, cruising through a wilderness where the nearest road is miles away, where the ghosts of miners past still inhabit the sandy shores of the river. See an Athabascan Indian village, an abandoned mining town, and perhaps a moose swimming across the river. Disembark in Eagle and travel over the scenic Taylor Highway to Tok for a night in the dog- mushing capital of Alaska.
(The Yukon Queen wasn't working that day because the engines had gotten
clogged with silt. Instead, we took a motorcoach over the Top of the World
Highway, then Taylor Highway to Tok.)
