Sequence Alignment and HPC
High performance data-parallel associative computing is used to approach a common bioinformatics application: sequence alignment.
SWAMP = Smith-Waterman using Associative Massive Parallelism
SWAMP+ = SWAMP with extended search capabilities for discovering in-depth knowledge and semi-automation of finding multiple local alignments for motifs and more.
The current focus is to return the top k optimum alignments instead of a single, best local alignment based on the rigorous Smith-Waterman algorithm using several properties of the massively parallel ASsociative Computing model, or ASC.
Please visit the SWAMP Alignment Resource Page at http://www.SWAMPAlign.com for more information, and changing links as applications are built for bio & alignment users!
